Big Words, Small Worlds - Part 1

The novelist David Lodge attends the Linguistics of Writing Conference at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 1986. In this first part of the programme, he provides background to the relation between language and literature, outlines structuralism and deconstruction, and comments on the wider social phenomenon of academic conferences.
